A Meditation On Four Truths
There is a cycle to the suffering within our lives, a cycle which we must find
That is the first law, and we find it is noble and true;
Where it comes from, we must seek, and the answer will be found our mind:
That comes to the second law, where we find out what to do.
We see the cycle, we go from pleasure to pain and to pleasure again,
But what causes the pain which often seems to be our goal?
Ignorance, delusion, they lead us to do what is wrong, to bring us into sin,
There we find a penalty is given to us, karma takes its toll.
Having explored two, and found that ignorance leads to pain in turn ,
How do we go from ignorance to truth, how do we get our delusions to
cease?
For if our ignorance leads to our sin, we need to find the truth, and learn;
And then we shall see the path ahead, so we can end our life in peace.
Study, learn from the enlightened, debate: but the truth do not dismiss,
And then act upon what is learned, the path is then set;
If ignorance leads to suffering, knowledge must lead to bliss;
If in truth we act, we shall find we will have nothing left to
regret.
