LET THE BIBLE SPEAK
It seems clear that there are only two alternatives as to a plausible explanation for the origin of man: creation or evolution.
Those who hold the theory of evolution claim that man has evolved from lower (non-human) form of life. Those who hold that man owes his origin to the creative act of God, agree with the biblical account: "In the beginning God created the heaven and the earth" (Gen. 1:1).
It cannot be the case that both the atheistic humanist view of evolution and the biblical view of creation are true. It cannot be that neither of them is true. It must be that one of them is true and the other is false.
Can one really know which one is true? Since the Bible is the word of God (this can be proven), then the Bible is infallible. It is not possible for God to lie (Heb. 6:18; Titus 1:2). The Bible gives the account of the origin of man. By studying and properly interpreting the Bible, man can know the truth about his origin.
"And God said, Let us make man in our own image, after our likeness...So God created man in his own image, in the image of God created he him: male and female created he them" (Gen. 1:26-27).
"And the Lord formed man of the dust of the ground, and breathed into his nostrils the breath of life; and man became a living soul... and the Lord God caused a deep sleep to fall upon Adam, and he slept: and he took one of his ribs, and closed up the flesh instead thereof; and the rib, which the Lord God had taken from man, made he woman, and brought her unto man. And Adam said, this is bone of my bones, and flesh of my flesh: she shall be called Woman, because she was taken out of Man"(Gen. 2:7,21,22,23).
There are some who refuse to believe that all the Bible is inspired, and discount the Genesis account of creation. What does the New Testament have to say about the creation?
"In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God. The same was in the beginning with God. All things were made by him; and without him was not anything made"(John 1:1-3).
"For by him were all things created, that are in heaven, and that are in earth..." (Col. 1:16-17).
"For Adam was first formed, then Eve" (I Tim. 2:13).
Jesus plainly taught that God created the first two human beings, and that God created them male and female. "And he [Christ] answered unto them, Have ye not read, that he which made them at the beginning made them male and female..." (Matt. 19:4,5). Note: Jesus said, "at the beginning." That is a point in time, not a long process taking millions of years. Thus it is not possible to truly believe that Jesus is the Son of God, and subscribe to the theory of evolution.
The theory of evolution contradicts plain Bible teaching. To teach such is to deny the Bible is the word of God. It forces the position that Jesus Christ is not the Son of God.
If we cannot depend upon what the Bible says with regard to the origin of man, why would we think that we can depend upon what it says about any other subject, including salvation?
Any doctrine or theory which contradicts the word of God is false. The theory of evolution contradicts the word of God. Therefore, it can not possibly be true.
"If any man speak let him speak as the oracles of God" (I Pet. 4:11).
