Adana

Adana was situated in the plain of Cilicia on the Sarus River (today the Seyhan in south-central Turkey). The Hittite settlement was founded during the Egyptian Eighteenth Dynasty. It held an important place at the foot of the passes through the Taurus mountains that led into the Syrian plains.
