Healing Chants

burning torch!
Book of Shadows History of Wicca My Views Principals of Belief Witch Trials

Procedures | Chants & Timing | Divinity Stone | Energy Fallout | Energy Drain |Stopping Blood | Stopping Pain | Headaches | All-Purpose Burn/Infection Chant | References |

The following chants are taken from the book HexCraft by Silver RavenWolf. I have used ALL of these chants, on myself and others, with great success.

Congrats go out to Silver RavenWolf. The local boy scout troops have designed a badge to honor those scouts who master the HexCraft techniques. When I last heard from Silver in September, 97 she said 80 boys had earned the badge to date. I hope that the rest of the troops nationally adopt her HexCraft badge!

Procedures

All chants are spoken three times. The healer will also blow "sacred breath" three times in quick bursts over the client. Many healers, Silver says, also draw a sigil in the air or over the body. I have yet to add this to my chants.

All of these chants can be used with ANY diety system. I have said "In the name of the Maiden, Mother and Crone" and also "In the name of the Father, Son, and the Holy Ghost." Since three is a sacred number, and most of the procedures are done in groups of threes, I recommend you pick a trinity to work with if you choose something other than what is written.

Divinity Stone

I also work with a Divinity Stone. This is a special "healing stone" that is charged to draw negativity to it. Sortof a pocket Black Hole. My Divinity stone was given to me by a girl who had used it as a healing stone for the past 2 years, who had it passed on to her by a girl who had used it 5 years. I was honored that it found its way to me.

You will find that the stone will "call" you. Mine is a lava rock that has been worn smooth by use. It doesn't have to be a particular crystal or stone, but should be something you can hold comfortably in your hand.

You should cleanse and consecrate your stone during the Full Moon cycle. At the end of the ceremony, you should envision the stone as a black hole, and letting it know its purpose - to remove and break down pain so it is no more. (Hexcraft, pg. 55)

Sleep with the stone for at least two weeks, so it can attune for you.

During the healing, picture the flow of healing energy from the earth, to your body, to your client, and the illness/negativity flowing out of the client into the stone.

Chants and Timing

Repeat most chants at three to fifteen minute intervals as needed. Many healers also say a secondary chant, along with a primary chant. Since I have yet to do so, I am not including them on this page as of yet. See HexCraft, pages 97 - 114 for further details on these, and other chants.

Energy Fallout

Many of these chants will involve drawing the illness away from the client, and "throwing it away." It is IMPORTANT that no one is standing in your "line of fire." The last thing you want to do is draw pain from one person, and give it to another.

what ever direction you choose to "throw it away" make sure NO ONE is there. It is best to work in a room alone with the client. If you do have to have someone else present (for instance, if you are working on a young child and have their parent there) then make sure they are "in the clear."

Energy Drain

Be aware that you may feel exhausted after a major healing. Rest. Eat something. Draw earth energy back into your body to replenish you.

If you are experiencing this after minor healings, something is wrong. You might not be grounding properly, and are expending your energy instead of your divinity's or Earth's energy.

Also, there is NOTHING in the rules that says you have to "take the pain of the client on" in order to heal them. Give the pain up to your Gods, let them handle it!

Stopping Blood

There are many chants for stopping blood, and this is the one I have used. Granted, it was a minor injury I used it on but it stopped bleeding within a minute.

Holy Mary, Mother of God

Who Stoppeth the pain and stoppeth the blood,

In the name of the Maiden, Mother, and Crone, So be it.

Stopping Pain

This chant is always used with the divinity stone. Hold the stone about 1/2 inch away from the painful area, and move it widdershins. (counterclockwise) while you are saying the chant. This chant too has worked well for me.

Hair and hide

Flesh and blood

Nerve and bone

No more pain, then this stone.

Headaches

This chant I have used on my husband several times. The first time he was blown away. He had a really bad headache, and the pain was "gone" in less than a minute. It has worked on him every time since.

From your head

To my hand

To God's Hand

With the first line, place your receptive hand on the head of the client. On the second line, hold your hand outward, cupping it as if "holding the pain". On the third line you do nothing, until you have repeated the chant 3 times. After the 3rd time you exclaim, "I throw it away!" and envision the pain being pitched away from the client's body, and given to God.

All-Purpose Burn/Infection Chant (The Dragon Chant)

This chant provided the most dramatic example to me of all the chants. I was using a powerwasher when I leaned on it with my left hand, to reach over and shut the switch off. Unfortunately, I leaned on the exhaust manifold. The equivalant to leaning on a hot car muffler. OUCH!

The instant after I looked at my hand, and it looked like I had burned about 1/2 of my palm, and my little finger. Now Hex Meisters do not believe in putting cold water on a burn. I did, so I didn't follow that part. But I also immediatedly started doing the following chant.

It took about 2 hours, and the pain was GONE. Zip. Nada. I was in some pretty severe pain up until then. And I developed only one tiny blister on my palm near my little finger.

I feel it was the power of this chant that removed the pain, and prevented the blistering. I hope it helps you as it has me!

The three times rule does not apply with this chant. Just keep doing it until if feels better. If your burn is severe, please also seek medical attention!

The weed and the dragon tried to cross the river Jordan

The weed sank and the dragon drank

In the name of the Father, Son and Holy Ghost

In the name of the Maiden, Mother and Crone.

Weed, according to Donald Tyson, a Llewellyn author, is an old term for a kind of a perpetual fever. Dragon is associated with fire, thus buring. Both of these are defeated by water, which is the elemental opposite of fire.
