A disheveled man lies alone
in deserted doorway in the
abode of the damned on a dark
God forsaken street. Lying
amongst the debris of the
forgotten souls, he does not
remember his last meal nor has
decent shoes for his feet...

A tear falls in the dark.

Somewhere, a woman sits softly
caressing the face of the man
she has known and loved for years.
Her mind wandering back in time,
through the memories they have shared.
His time has come she knows. Her
soul crying silent tears as she with
loving devotion tries to calm his fears....

A once proud, strong man, his body
now ridden by time. Stands looking
into the faces of strangers then
looks to his love. The pain and
sorrow he feels at being unable
to care for her now apparent from
the depths of his soul.

Reflected through his tear misted eyes as he
begs for sustenance for his beloved
wife of years. Strangers hearts, cold
as stone, compassion a foreign feeling
they do not understand. They do not listen,
they do not hear. Their ears have gone deaf
to the torment of another living soul...

Two lovers lie alone in the silence
staring into the depths of time and
space. Deeply regretting the words
that were and weren't said. The
distance between seeming to stretch
throughout eternity. Hearts longing
for one another yet each too proud to
take that first step....

Somewhere in this world we all call home,
the cry of a child in need shatters the
silence. The haunting nightmares of the
images of the Desecration around him
disturb his sleep. His young soul scarred
with horrors, no one should endure. There
are millions in this world that share his
pain. Will you open your heart to cries
that fill the air? Or shall you simply
turn and walk away?
