    ???THE QUESTION BOX???

In Colossians 1:24, Paul says "Now I rejoice in my sufferings for your sake, and in my flesh I am filling up what is lacking in the afflictions of Christ on behalf of his body which is the church," (NAB). This passage always bothered me because Paul seems to say that Christ's sufferings were lacking...Why do you think Paul says this?

Some of my Favorite Quotes Bartlett's Quotations

"If God's incomprehensibility does not grip us in a word, if it does not draw us into God's superluminous darkness, if it does not call us out of the little house of our homely, close-hugged truths...we have misunderstood the words of Christianity." --Karl Rahner

"The goal is not simply the consciousness-raising of a few individuals, but the most pervasive readjustment of human society ever conceived: equalization of the dignity of all human beings." --Margaret R. Miles

The human body is that "which is never perfect, which ages, becomes sick, is part of society, and precisely in all these imperfections can experience happiness and well-being."--Elisabeth Moltmann-Wendel

"Faith does not mean climbing the peak of the possible, but allowing oneself to fall to the depths of existence and be grasped by the length and breadth of life." --Elisabeth Moltmann-Wendel

      • Lytle and Lucchino Family ...The Lytle family I am researching are from the Finleyville/Hackett, PA. area. There are a number of Lytle's from this area and I haven't been able to connect them to the Robert Lytle family that settled there from Scotland. I have researched back to Samuel Lytle originally from Westmoreland County (Rostraver) who fought in the Civil War and died in 1865. If you have any information on these Lytles, please e-mail me. My father was Robert Aaron Lytle, whose father was Thomas Aaron Lytle (Della Lillian Smith), from John Adam Lytle (Catherine Lessig), from Aaron Gamble Lytle (Susann Anderson (Zimmerman)), from SAMUEL LYTLE (Sarah Ann ?) (1825-C. AFTER 1870). We're back a little further now to William circa 1795 and Elizabeth circa 1805?. For more information and a clearer picture of this ancestry, visit the site at Ancestry.com and search for Aaron Lytle. I am starting to post our family tree there.
