Jalynka is made from Jessica Lynn Clark Ayers. I am a 27 year old Christian,
happily married, former Army kid with a degree in English and History from
Harding University in Searcy, Arkansas, and a lifelong passion for King
Arthur. It began in eighth grade, when my English teacher made us read
The
Sword in the Stone, including the two differing chapters in
The
Once and Future King. I went ahead and read the whole book. I fell
in love with Arthur then, and his visions of a world where all is just
and fair and good. I consider the Arthurian story the story of mankind's
struggle for perfection, and the inability for us to achive it without
God. Arthur is the idealist in me, the part of me that longs for beauty
and goodness.
My family is from Arkansas, near where I live now in Walnut Ridge,
where I am currently job hunting. I have a teacher's certificate, and even
tried teaching for a short while, but I've decided to wait till I have
a better grasp on how to discipline before attempting again. I have a sister,
Jennifer, who has her own website at Geocities. My brother, Kenneth, plays
basketball, viedo games, and loves Tolkien. My father, a former Lt. Col.
in the US Army, is now a middle school social studies teacher, and my mother
works part time at the local post office in their tiny town.
My husband Steven is a native of Pasco, Wash., and also attended Harding
University, but finished his Computer Science degree in Dec. '99 at ASU,
and is now employed with Davis Computing Services, an ISP in Lynn, AR.
He is a former Navy Hospital Corpsman, as well. His sister Sarah and her
husband Brandon both recently joined the Army, and the rest of his family
lives in Washington. His brother Paul and wife, Tammy, also live in eastern
WA and are expecting Paul, Jr., any day now! Brother Phil still lives at
home and works nights. Grandma Ayers also lives with the family. They are
great people.
Besides King Arthur, I also enjoy 19th Century British literature,
Shakespeare, Star Trek, Celtic, Christian, Classical and Country music,
gardening, teaching myself to knit and crochet, mountains, snow, horses
and butterflies. I'm a little shy, but I enjoy intelligent conversation.
I love to travel and have been overseas many times, both with my family
in our Army days (We lived in both West Germany and South Korea), and later
on my own as a college student.
I have several purposes in these pages: To bring a unique group of
links and book reviews about King Arthur together for others also interested
in him; To (eventually) provide information about the legend itself; To
bring a Christian perspective to Arthurian studies; To evangelize for Christ
by letting others know about him; To make a little money on the side; and
just plain to have fun learning how to make a web page.
I hope my pages are interesting and informative for you. If you have
any suggestions on how I can improve the site, please email me at
