7-15-98: Vote For Me!

I deleted my previous entry I wrote for todayand wrote this instead:

There once lived a little asian girl named Sara. Sara lived a happy little life and was content with her family and friends. One day, she got on the web and learned about the fascinating world of building homepages. Then, she got nominated for a "site-of-the-week" contest at some website for teens. She went into a frenzy: putting a little flashing banner that reminded her of Geocities flashing logo on the bottom of her page, e-mailing all her trusty web fans and friends, etc. She went mad trying to win.

What made everything so depressing was that she was going to cancel her online account, go on vacation, and then go to another Internet service provider. But voting for the site-of-the-week was going to last for a week and she wouldn't be on the Internet for a week!

Feeling mighty pitiful, Sara wrote a corny journal entry about what had happened, and then wrote this:

Please, whatever you do, go to Getting Real, find your way to the Metro section, and vote for the site whose name starts with a 'U'.

Okay now. Let me stop now so I can contemplate on getting a life.
