School Choir
My school choir is fun, busy, and disruptive(in the good way). It's not "cool" to be in the choir, but I knew I wasn't going to take band again like I had the previous year(go to my thoughts on the flute) No, I was going to be in the chorus.
The best concert of the school year, was in my opinion, the one we had in May. It was the end-of-the-year concert tt was sweltering in the gym where we held it. The matching concert shirts we wore stuck to our sweaty skin, and my hair was matted to my head. We all had to stay there for a long, but audibly pleasing, two hours.
The majority of the concert were solos, or duets. The worst performance was given by a a girl who, no offense to her, did an off-pitch and screeching rendition of "Hopelessly Devoted To You." In my opinion the best performance was a beautiful soprano duet of "The Rose." Another duo did a great version of the jammin' song "Waterfalls", which was refreshing to hear amidst all the Broadway and old hit Adult Contemporary songs.
My friend and I sang "Memory." We did okay, I guess, but we sounded better when we practiced it earlier. We both had solos in the song, and I did pretty well on my high part due to the probbing and prodding I got from people who kept on asking me earlier to,"Sing the high part! Sing the high part!"(A little annoying, I admit, but it was sort of flattering too:o) Alright, I'll admit it! I'm egotistical sometimes!) But doing the alto part, my friend and I simutaneously forgot the lyrics for a few seconds. It would have sounded okay if one of us had remembered what it was and sang it like a solo, but we were both silent that moment.
