Nundajelènsowa’
kàn - Humility
Included in this Teaching are equality. Also referred to as Humility of Spirit and Conduct/tamakilàndamowa’ kàn (lit. "pitifulness in Attitude"). Opposites are jealousy, superiority, vanity, and self-importance. We should ever strive to be humble, to remember that we are no greater than the rest of creation, of other life. Attitudes of superiority have led to our present ecological problems, have given others an excuse to be prejudiced, have led to world wars, suffering, and the extinction of animal species. Acting in humility, we take only what we need, giving prayer and thanksgiving for what we take from the Mother Earth; consider our actions upon all life, the future generations; always leave something for others and for the future.
