Prayer from the heart
Redwing Blackbird
April 18, 2002
Here I sit upon Mother Earth taken aback by her beauty. Green grass tickles my bare toes. The smells of the wild flowers tease my senses. I hear many things as I relax here, O Great Creator, as I look upon all that you have done. With Father Sky so blue, dotted with fluffy white clouds. Brother Eagle reaching for Grandfather Sun in the afternoon. As day slowly gives way to night, night creatures scurrying here and there as Grandmother Moon shines down lighting our path. The rains that come in the spring quench Mother Earths thirst. Snows in the winter cover earth with an all white blanket. Seed, trees, and some creatures sleep until awaken by the warm embrace of Grandfather Sun. The winds that are always bringing change; the rumble of the Thunder beings during a storm, at times they startle me and make me jump. Lightning, also powerful, lights up the dark skies. What a wonderful show. All the wondrous creatures that walk, swim, crawl, or fly; each one has its own beauty and purpose. The love of family and friends, times spent together, even the times when we are apart; theyre always in our hearts and on our minds. The strangers we meet along the way, the ones who become friends. The fellowship and times shared are always a wonderful blessing. The Red Path is what I have always tried to follow and live by.
I thank you for showing me the way O Great Creator.
