About Fishers of Man Online
Hi! My name is Jake. I am a 21 year old guy living in a small country called Singapore, where there are many races and religions. The idea for this webpage came out in December 1997, as I was doing a webpage for myself.  It was meant to be a subpage in my personal webpage where I will link to other christian sites both local and foreign for my friends to use.
As I was doing the webpages and looking at other people's website......it dawned on me that I am one of the few thousand people that are looking at the webpage. And the people the are looking at the webpage are people from different countries, different races and different culture. The audience that view the web is just amazing! So I thought, since I can't be a missionary, and go places to tell people about God, I might as well do it at home, in a webpage! This way I can also reach people from other countries that still do not know God.
So I started cracking my lazy brain.........
First, it was the name of the page......since it was supposed to be an evangelical webpage where I tell people about God, it has to have an inner evangelical meaning and also one that doesn't really tell that this webpage is a christian webpage cos that scares some people away..... I was thinking about the Great Commission,
"Therefore go and make disciples of all nations, baptising them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit."
Matthew 28:19.
Making disciples of all nations that is my objective of doing my webpage. All of us christians should take up the responsibility to make disciples as Jesus has commanded. Then I thought of names like 'disciple workshop', 'disciple factory', 'makings of disciples', but they all dun seem cliches. Then I remembered how Jesus called to Peter and Andrew to be his first 2 disciples, he said,
"Come, follow me, Jesus said, and I will make you fishers of men."
Matthew 3:19.
I want to be a fisher of men to be able to fish men for God. And the rest was history........
