ADMIN/FOUND 2003 Teaching and Administration in the Church: A general study of the education ministry of a church. Emphasis is given to growing churches through the Sunday School and other organizations helping to fulfill the purpose of a New Testament church.

FOUND 2303 Dynamics of Teaching: A study of the Christian educator¡¦s role in the teaching ministry of the church. Attention will be given to the biblical basis for the teaching ministry as well as the practical duties of the church staff member in the equipping of teachers.

GRDIP 2993 Experiential Learning Seminar: The Experiential Learning Seminar is an individualized laboratory course in which a portfolio of previous learning experiences will be documented. Up to 30 hours of credit can be awarded for demonstrated learning based on past experience. In addition to the portfolio preparation, a degree plan will be developed and academic skills needed to do competent graduate work will be studied.

WRCOM 1302/3302 Written Communication: A practical study designed to assist the student in fulfilling seminary academic requirements. Consideration will be given to a review of grammatical materials, preparation of research and term papers, book reports and resumes. Practical methods of vocabulary building and new approaches to spelling will be included.

CAED 3300 Foundations for Lifelong Learning: This course lays the foundation for the adult education program. Through the preparation of an academic portfolio, adult students are guided in the opportunity to translate knowledge and skills obtained through life and work experience into academic credit. The classroom also becomes the forum in which students explore their own world views (philosophies of life) and think through important issues regarding philosophy of education. Academic skills development and career evaluation and planning complete the objectives of this course.

CAED 3307 Perspectives - An Analysis of Philosophical, Educational, and Personal Paradigms: This course, required of those pursuing the inverted degree program, prepares students who have completed or who have been enrolled in an associate degree in technical/occupational areas, and have less than four years of full-time work experience for the completion of a bachelor¡¯s degree in the adult education program. Students will explore major value systems, or world views; study current issues in the philosophy of education; examine personal career goals; and seek to develop various academic and professional skills. This course may be substituted for CAED 3300 by adult education students who do not need to earn experiential learning credit through the preparation of an academic portfolio. This course cannot be taken as an elective by students who have taken CAED 3300.

HIED 6340 History and Philosophy of Higher Education: An examination of the development of American higher education against the background of influential social, political, economic, and intellectual issues.

REED 3301 Introduction to Religious Education: A survey of religious education, including history and principles of religious education. Emphasis is placed upon the development of religious education as a vocation.

The focus will be on how Christian ministry can provide an effective apologetic to address the needs of the postmodern era.
