June 1970 - SMCI grabbed 3 golds in Perak Amatur Athletics Assiociation Meet Athletics

Year 1972 - Sister Pidelma Hogan retire as SMCI 3rd principal.

Year 1973 - Sister Maureen Chew P.J.K. select as 4th SMCI principal.

Year 1973 - SMCI won most of the events in 8th Perak Junior Meet in Swimming

Year 1975 - Choo Sheal Mee is the best student. Chew Cheng Gaik is head girl.

Year 1976 - Wan Yih Lin and Charmaine Gomes is the best student and top sportwomen of SMCI. Yeoh Choo San is head girl.

Year 1976 - The medium of instruction was changed from English to Bahasa Melayu.

Year 1976 - SMCI emerged as National Champion in Badminton

Year 1977 - SMCI won 1st , 2nd and 3rd place in the singles in MSSM Badminton through Claire Choo , Frida Hong and Jennifer Gomez

Year 1978 - The first batch of Form Three students sat for the SRP Examination.

Year 1978 - Chan Weng Buen and joint Charmaine Gomes and Clare Choo Nyuk Lin is the best student and top sportwomen of SMCI. Yin Sook Lee is head girl.

Year 1978 - SMCI emerged runnerup in MSSM Badmintion Tournament and Chew Eng Wooi and Claire Choo were awarded state colours

SM Convent was champion in the Under 18 Badminton tournaments at the MSSPK level from 1968 and 1988. The school aslo represented Perak at MSSM meets and emerged national champion in 1977 and runners-up in 1979 and 1981.In 1979 ,two students from the school,Clare Choo and Freda Khong,were members of the Malaysian team that won a silver medal in the team event at the Asean Badminton Championship in Jakarta.
