Magic Rain

I thought I was saying

good-bye to my friend.

But as I looked into your hazel eyes,

I think the friendship changed.

Your arm went around my waist,

and pulled me close to you.

I laid my head on your shoulder,

and cuddled against your warmness.

Your arm tightened it's hold on me,

and your face was buried in my hair.

For mindless moments it stopped raining on us,

and the cold and wet disappeared between.

The magic broken only by whispered words,

"Your hair smells good."

I beleive our hearts beat together,

just for a second.

And our souls flew to forever,

just for a second.

Then you released me,

and I took a step back.

"Bye" was all that left our lips,

and I watched your retreating back.

I got into the car out of the rain,

and went the opposite direction.

I thought I said good-bye to my friend,

but instead it may have been someone more.
