I just finished reading a book written by Prof. Mirfatih Zakiyev ("Torki-Tatar Etnogenezi"/[The Ethnic Origins of Turkic Peoples and Tatars] Moscow, 1998) and was very surprised to find out that ancient Turkic peoples and Sumerians had most likely intera ted with each other. All the arguments presented in his book are very logical and persuasive. He also writes about the similarities between the Etruscian language and Turkic languages. I was a bit sceptical about the link between Eruscians and Turkic peoples, but when I read an article on the Etruscian language in the Encyclopaedia Britannica, I myself found many linguistic similarities between them. Of course, the Eurocentric school of thought will not give up its false beliefs easily, but its arguments are much weaker than the arguments of its critics.
