This page archives my script translations (not scanlations, I'm afraid; I have no aptitude with Photoshop whatsoever) of the manga Mahoraba, a romantic comedy about an art student and his landlady with a slight...twist.
The twelfth and final volume of the Mahoraba manga was released in Japan in July 2006. The story was also made into a 26-episode anime series, which aired from January to June of 2005. Sadly, neither the manga nor the anime has yet been licensed for English release. I hope that that will change at some point in the future. (In the meantime, Froth-Bite has completed fansubs of the anime; for those who desire scanlations of the manga rather than straight scripts, Hiyoko no GAO offers a considerably less rigid [and, in some ways, less accurate] translation, currently complete up through volume 10.)
I am not a native Japanese speaker; I am a student of the language, with three years of formal instruction under my belt. (In point of fact, these translations are part of my continuing independent study of the language, now that I've exhausted local opportunities.) In doing these translations, I relied heavily on Jim Breen's WWWJDIC and The Kodansha Kanji Learner's Dictionary.
In the happy event that the manga is licensed, I will remove translations for each volume when a release date for that volume is announced. (I am optimistically projecting that I will at least manage to stay ahead of that pace. :P) I will also take these translations down at the request of the copyright holder in any event.
Progress reports on these translations (as with rare-to-the-point-of-mythical progress reports on my fanfic :P) can be found in my LiveJournal.

Mahoraba is written by Akira Kojima, and published by Gangan Comics. I own none of it.
