I found this book absolutely fascinating. It was quite difficult to read - not just because it is filled with facts, figures, and dates etc. but also because you have to keep stopping to go over it all in your head, to assimilate all the information and then tell anybody within earshot all about what you've read! The author begins by telling about the Piri Reis World Map of 1513 and how it accurately shows the Princess Martha Coast of Queen Maud Land Antarctica - and could only have been mapped before the ice-age. He goes on to explain that this map was copied from earlier maps, there are other earlier maps mentioned too. What is so amazing is that modern, accurate map making was only really made possible with the invention of John Harrison's chronometer in 1761, allowing longitudes to be correctly measured. How could these early maps have been drawn so accurately by the early civilisations? Next he goes on to talk about the Nazca lines in Peru, the ancient giant pictures, portraying various animals, insects, man etc., which can only be seen from an aeroplane flying above them, indeed were only truly 'discovered' after the invention of the aeroplane! The author travels around Peru tracing its history and legends and makes comparisons with other countries' history, myths and legends. He goes on to Mexico and Egypt, collecting information and evidence along the way, of a lost ancient civilisation, which was highly advanced, and which was destroyed by a totally devastating planetary catastrophe. I'm sorry that I have not the space here to tell you more, but I can highly recommend that you read this book - if you haven't done so already!
