Takase Junior High School has over 300 students in the equivalent of American grades 7-9.  Our students are involved in a variety of clubs, from sports teams to the fine arts.  As the school year here goes from April to March, we've just started the spring term with over 100 new 7th graders.  Upcoming events include the annual 3rd Year Student trip to Kyoto and Hiroshima.

The 1st years climb Mt. Jii
***  Girls softball placed 2nd in the all Nagano-Ken tournament July 22, 2000.

***  Boys basketball qualified for the all Nagano-Ken tournament.

***  Girls volleyball qualified for the Chuushin (Matusmoto-Azumino area) tournament.

***  Table tennis qualified for the all Nagano-Ken tournament.

  Special English Projects
....September 16,2000 is the Chuushin area English Speech contest.  After winning the Takase contest Aug 30, 3rd year student Yuki Horiuchi will compete.
...  The 3rd year students are doing a letter exchange with  students in Singapore
...  The 2nd year students are involved in a letter/card exchange with an orphanage in Thailand.
...  The English Club will perform a play of 'Hansel and Gretel' in Takase Sai.
