Halloween 1999

This year for Halloween we were a bit limited by the school test schedule, so we were unable to plan any big events.  We were able to carry on the tradition of a Jack o' Lantern design contest (started by Eric Phillips, the previous AET).  There were a lot of great designs submitted, but the winner was third year student Hazuki Uchiyama from class 3-2.  After school on the 28th, we carved her design into a mammoth pumpkin found by Shimazaki-sensei.  It was no easy task, (Japanese pumpkins are a bit thicker than american ones) but we were pleased with the results!

???, Hiroko Watanabe, Hazuki Uchiyama, Chihiro, and Shannon the AET display their creation.  The design was Hazuki's, but everyone helped with the difficult carving.
