What is the Cause of Teen Violence?

There has been a lot of talk since the horrible tragedy at Columbine High School and a lot of questions. Among them is the question of what causes things like this to come about. It is easy for the secular world of physiatrists and psychologists to analyze the happenings and try to come up with a practical and logical answer. It is easy for people all over to come up with their philosophies of why it happened and what caused it. The bottom line is that none of the secular reasoning has touched on the root of the problem. They have skirted around the cause and voiced some of the results of the real problem, but fail to address the foundation. It started back on June 25, 1962 when society and the Church listened to a small voice of opposition to allowing prayer in public schools. Consider the facts that support this belief: Since prayer was taken out of school in 1962, there have been dramatic increases in the following categories; Divorce 117%, adultery 200%, sexually transmitted disease ages 15-20, 226%, teen suicide 253%, unwed mother ages 10-14, 553%, unmarried couples living together 536%, violent crime 794%, sexual abuse to children (only reported) 2000%. These are only 8 of 40 categories which have been recorded, not to mention that America is the #1 producer of pornography (including child porn), #1 in teen suicide, #1 in teen pregnancy, drug use, divorce, and violent crime. Then add in the fact that over 1,000 babies a day are aborted, and wonder why teen mothers are throwing babies in the trash bins like they are garbage. Hollywood has done little to help in any of these areas, for example, by the time the average child graduates high school they will have seen more than 70,000 murders on television. Society and government agencies have taken away the rights of schools to discipline the children and therefore they have no control over them. Drug use is a major problem in most schools, but was not even mentioned prior to 1962. God is systematically being taken out of society and the result of this effort is reflected in the statistics above. Is it any wonder that some of the youth in our society today have little or no regard for human life? The homosexual movement has not moved us up in the morality standards neither. America today will have to raise its standards dramatically to reach the level of Sodom and Gomorrah.

There was also a connection with the events of Colombine and others like it in Georgia, Michigan, Arkansas, and others of similar circumstances. The common denominator in each of the attackers involved was not the more common or seemingly obvious conclusion; No, they had what is statistically called a complete family and seemingly normal family situations. The common denominator in these cases was that the attackers each had an association with Marilyn Manson, and other groups with Manson's type of lyrics. If you continually fill a mind with hate, evil, anarchy, suicide, and "anything goes" connotations, what is one to expect the actions to be?

Even in the best of family situations if a child is filling their minds with this type of garbage, the outcome will be inevitable. The Bible says that,

Whether people want to believe it or not there is a Spiritual battle going on daily for our children and we have to fight the battle with the proper weapons. Legislation, Metal Detectors, Counseling, Gun Control Laws, and any of the other efforts by a willingly ignorant society will not solve the problem. We have handed our children over to the evil forces in a hand basket and until we as a people repent and seek God's face and learn to fight this battle we will never see victory. ONLY when we bring God back into our Schools, Society, and most especially our Homes, will we see morality restored. It all must start on a individual basis. We Must Take Back Our Families, Societies, Our Children, and claim them back to the LORD.
