Why is the Jesus Seminar so Dangerous to You?

The Jesus Seminar was founded by Robert Funk and has grown to a large number of "so-called, self-professed, Scholars". These so-called scholars meet on a regular basis in various places in the country to discuss the scriptures and their accuracy. These men sit down and decide which scriptures are authentic and which miracles really occurred and what Jesus really said and what He didn't. They are holding seminars in various churches across the US and it is amazing that they are so welcomed by some ministers. Their message is one of doubt and acceptance of anything that sounds good. It doesn't surprise me that they are doing this, because even in the early New Testament days these false teachers existed which you will see in the scriptures below. What does surprise me is the number of churches that are opening their doors to them. I have confronted Mr. Funk at one of his seminars and I can tell you that he is not a scholar, he is nothing more than a disciple of Lucifer and all of his companions along with him. If you hear of them being in your area I encourage you to copy this page and pass it out to those attending the seminar. There are a lot of people that go to these seminars that are ignorant of what the Jesus Seminar really is. That is why it is so important to warn them by passing this paper out to them before they enter.

The Jesus Seminar has only one objective; to publish and flatter themselves and to discredit the Scriptures of the Holy Bible. They use the guise of being scholars to captivate the attention of even ministers. What they are doing is not new, satan was the first to question the Word of God in the Garden. What they are doing is also warned of in the Scriptures; read for yourselves what God has to say about these so-called, self-professed scholars. I have a question to pose to you as you read the following scriptures. If you believe in a God that created the heavens and earth and everything we see and know, which is something that you will never be able to comprehend; then why is it so hard to believe that this same God that done these things cannot protect the writings of a single book to say exactly what He wants the way He wants? It is a contradiction to the power of God to doubt His Word on the grounds of the wisdom of men.

"For we have not followed cunningly devised fables when we made known unto you the power and coming of our Lord Jesus Christ, but we were eyewitnesses of his majesty. We have also a more sure word of prophecy, unto which ye do well that ye take heed, as unto a light that shineth in a dark place, until the day dawn, and the day star arise in your hearts; Knowing this first, that no prophecy of the scripture is of any private interpretation. For the prophecy came not at any time by the will of man, but holy men of God spoke as they were moved by the Holy Spirit. But there were false prophets also among the people, even as there shall be false teachers among you, who secretly shall bring in destructive heresies, even denying the Lord that bought them, and bring upon themselves swift destruction. And many shall follow their pernicious ways, by reason of whom the way of truth shall be evil spoken of. And through covetousness shall they, with deceitful words, make merchandise of you. Now the Spirit speaketh expressly that in the latter times some shall depart from the faith, giving heed to seducing spirits and doctrines of demons. Speaking lies in hypocrisy, having their conscience seared with a hot iron. Having a form of godliness, but denying the power of it; from such turn away. Ever learning and never able to come to the knowledge of the truth. For the time will come when they will not endure sound doctrine, but after their own lusts shall they heap to themselves teachers having itching ears; And they shall turn away their ears from the truth, and shall be turned unto fables. But continue thou in the things which thou hast learned and hast been assured of, knowing of whom thou hast learned them. And that from a child thou hast known the holy scriptures which are able to make thee wise unto salvation through faith which is in Christ Jesus. All scripture is given by inspiration of God, and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness, that the man of God may be perfect thoroughly furnished unto all good works. I marvel that ye are so soon removed from him that called you into the grace of Christ unto another gospel, which is not another; but there are some that trouble you and would pervert the gospel of Christ. But though we, or an angel from heaven, preach any other gospel unto you than that which we have preached unto you, let him be accursed. As we said before, so say I now again, If any man preach any other gospel unto you than that ye have received, let him be accursed.

Please think about the purpose of this Jesus Seminar, and where their foundations are derived from. No matter how intelligent and scholarly the package is presented, the bottom line is still that the substance of the contents is "doubt". God is not the author of confusion or doubt. Remember that God will not hold you guiltless, especially once the truth has been presented to you. If you have arrived at this point, then the truth of the Scriptures has been presented, and you must now make a choice. You can either stick with the truth of God’s Word, or you can lean on the wisdom of man and accept the heretical teachings of these disciples of Lucifer.
