Part Two - IMAGES. |
A CLOSER LOOK at the red, black, and white pterodactyl stone shown on the left. Note its head and teeth, as well as the image of the attacking North American lion which is articulated, to the upper left of the pterodactyl's head, with the pterodactyl's staring eye. As I mentioned previously, this is one of my favorite examples of non-metrical image writing...due to the circumstances under which I found it. There is a more complete description of some aspects of this stone's image writing at the bottom of the preceeding page, under the heading "Pterodactyls Considered as Dragons".
A CLOSER LOOK at another aspect of the red, black, and white pterodactyl stone. Note how it presents the overall shape and appearance of a North American lion, while the overall shape and appearance of the pterodactyl side of this stone (as shown in the small image appended to the text above) presents the outline of a pterodactyl's head (facing right).
A CLOSER LOOK at another aspect of the black and white pterodactyl stone, showing more of the non-metrical image writing it presents. What does this one say? Well, if you can read it then, you know how to go about finding specific examples of non-metrical image writing. 90% proximity; 10% immanence: but of course, if you are not trained in such matters, and are not a member of the First Nations or are not one of their friends, then you might not like how quickly that other 10% can add up. I don't know how important honesty and sincerity are here because, I never approached this research without those qualities. But I wouldn't recommend trying this without them; and I might end here with a "You'll see" but, in fact, this isn't about what you will SEE...and my advice to you would be to "get a Guide." You don't want to try this without one.
A CLOSER LOOK at another aspect of the flying pterodactyl stone, showing a characteristic three-toed foot. This is the bottom of the Flying Pterodactyl stone, and shows how skillfully such stones were crafted to expose whatever sub-surface grain patterns inherent in the rock the people producing non-metrical image writing wished to make use of.

A FLYING PTERODACTYL
A CLOSER LOOK at the flying pterodactyl (in white, lower right) stone. This pterodactyl articulates through several aspects, which are located around the creature's upper jaw. A standing pterodactyl, in the distance...well, you'll get the hang of it.
