Looming southwest of Agusan Valley is the majestic mountain plateau,
an interesting landmark in Butuan City. It is 2,212 feet above sea level. Mt Mayapay got its name from the ancient Majapahit Empire, the same Majapahit Empire that counted around the 10th or 11th century. The history behind the Sri-Vishaya period bears much meaning and influence of Butuan's pre-historic and archeological discoveries.
