As one travels along the highway, one can't help but notice
a tree in Alegria, San Francisco, Agusan del Sur, which stands
out among its peers, the majestic Toog Tree. It was
adjudged as the Tallest Toog Tree by the Tree Preservation
Foundation of the Philippines, inc. in 1980. Measuring
to a towering height of sixty-five (65) meters, it has a
circumference of one thousand four hundred and fourteen
(1,414) centimeters. Toog Tree, a specie of hardwood
variety, is rarely seen in other parts of the Philippine
archipelago but grows abundantly in Caraga Region particularly
in the province of Agusan del Sur.
