Crayfish, Cherax quadricarinatus

The north Queensland yabby or redclaw, Cherax quadricarinatus (family Parastacidae), is a green-brown freshwater crayfish common in rivers and streams west of the Dividing Range. The male has a red patch on its claws.

It tastes great cooked on the coals of the fire.
