fishing line

onyog in Uw Olkola

Fishing line, Kowanyama Land and Natural Resources Management Office, March 16 1997 [PH]. The Australian 50 cent coin, roughly 32 mm in diameter, allows for an estimation of size.

Fishing line is a fine string fastened to a hook with wax. In the accompanying image the hook is metal, but in traditional times bone and wood were used.
