Flying-fox

The black flying-fox, Pteropus alecto, and the little red flying-fox, Pteropus conspicilatus (family Pteropodidae), are common on the Peninsula, found feeding on fruit and nectar in woodland trees.

Trees which provide nectar which flying-foxes consume include the honey wattle, Grevillea pteridifolia and the old man banksia, Banksia dentata and others.
