The wallaby tail sinew twine is important in traditional material culture. After a wallaby is slaughtered the end of its tail is broken and pulled off. This pulls out and stretches the long sinew inside. After it dries this sinew may to used as twine or string, such as in tying the components of spears and woomeras together. |
