Over Achieved

Sometimes I hear you speaking echoing, ringing
whispering what you've said
I can hear your silent cries
begging to act
building up
to let me know
When I hear your promises
I feel safe
connected and living,
able to see through.
But when they fade away
like now
I lose myself
and I can't imagine the future.
Repeating them to myself
to calm, maybe
hold on to it
so I won't end too.
I say in my mind
what is left,
left to crumble and fall
left to be unsaid.
When I reach my dying point
the time without it,
I lie, beg for you
so we can go on.
Now that I've reached mine,
I don't have it
and you, nothing
will have just the same.
Because your words are still
I can imagine
all I want, I need
and be silenced for one.
