9. But the dove found no rest for the sole of her foot, and she returned unto him into the ark, for the waters were on the face of the whole earth: then he put forth his hand, and took her, and pulled her in unto him into the ark.
I Samuel 4
7. And the Philistines were afraid, for they said, God is come into the camp. And they
said, Woe unto us! for there hath not been such a thing heretofore.
8. Woe unto us! who shall deliver us out of the hand of these mighty Gods? these
are the Gods that smote the Egyptians with all the plagues in the wilderness.
I Samuel 5
7. And when the men of Ashdod saw that it was so, they said, The ark of the God
of Israel shall not abide with us: for his hand is sore upon us, and upon Dagon our god.
I Kings 20
23. And the servants of the king of Syria said unto him, Their gods are gods of
the hills; therefore they were stronger than we; but let us fight against them in the plain,
and surely we shall be stronger than they.
II Chronicles 2
5. And the house which I build is great: for great is our God above all
gods.
I Kings 20
28. And there came a man of God, and spake unto the king of Israel, and said, Thus saith
the LORD, Because the Syrians have said, the LORD is God of the hills, but he
is not God of the valleys, therefore will I deliver all this great multitude into thine
hand, and ye shall know that I am the LORD.
Isaiah 45
22. Look unto me, and be ye saved, all the ends of the earth: for I am God, and
there is none else.
I Kings 18
21. And Elijah came unto all the people, and said, How long halt ye between two
opinions? if the LORD be God, follow him: but if Baal, then follow him. And
the people answered him not a word.
22. Then said Elijah unto the people, I, even only, remain a prophet of the LORD;
but Baal's prophets are four hundred and fifty men.
23. Let them therefore give us two bullocks; and let them choose one bullock for
themselves, and cut it in pieces, and lay it on wood, and put no fire under: and I
will dress the other bullock, and lay it on wood, and put no fire under:
24. And call ye on the name of your gods, and I will call on the name of the LORD: and
the God that answereth by fire, let him be God. And all the people answered and said, It is well
spoken.
25. And Elijah said unto the prophets of Baal, Choose you one bullock for yourselves and
dress it first; for ye are many; and call on the name of your gods, but put no fire
under.
26. And they took the bullock which was given them, and they dressed it, and
called on the name of Baal from morning even until noon, saying, O Baal, hear us. But there
was no voice, nor any that answered. And they leaped upon the altar which was made.
27. And it came to pass at noon, that Elijah mocked them, and said, Cry aloud: for he
is a god; either he is talking, or he is pursuing, or he is in a journey, or
peradventure he sleepeth, and must be awaked.
28. And they cried aloud, and cut themselves after their manner with knives and lancets,
till the blood gushed out upon them.
29. And it came to pass, when midday was past, and they prophesied until the time
of the offering of the evening sacrifice, that there was neither voice, nor any to
answer, nor any that regarded.
30. And Elijah said unto all the people, Come near unto me. And all the people came near
unto him. And he repaired the altar of the LORD that was broken down.
31. And Elijah took twelve stones, according to the number of the tribes of the sons of
Jacob, unto whom the word of the LORD came, saying, Israel shall be thy name:
32. And with the stones he built an altar in the name of the LORD: and he made a trench
about the altar, as great as would contain two measures of seed.
33. And he put the wood in order, and cut the bullock in pieces, and laid him on
the wood, and said, Fill four barrels with water, and pour it on the burnt sacrifice, and on
the wood.
34. And he said. Do it the second time. And they did it the second time.
And he said, Do it the third time. And they did it the third time.
35. And the water ran around about that altar; and he filled the trench also with
water.
36. And it came to pass at the time of the offering of the evening sacrifice,
that Elijah the prophet came near, and said, LORD God of Abraham, Isaac, and of Israel, let it be
known this day that thou art God in Israel, and that I am thy servant, and
that I have done all these things at thy word.
37. Hear me, O LORD, hear me, that this people may know that thou art the
LORD God, and that thou hast turned their heart back again.
38. Then the fire of the LORD fell, and consumed the burnt sacrifice, and the wood, and
the stones, and the dust, and licked up the water that was. in the trench.
Romans1
16. For I am not ashamed of the gospel of Christ: for it is the power of God unto salvation
to every one that believeth; to the Jew first, and also to the Greek.
17. For therein is the righteousness of God revealed from faith to faith: as it is written, The
just shall live by faith.
18. For the wrath of God is revealed from heaven against all ungodliness and
unrighteousness of men, who hold the truth in unrighteousness;
19. Because that which may be known of God is manifest in them; for God hath shewed
it unto them.
20. For the invisible things of him from the creation of the world are clearly seen, being
understood by the things that are made, even his eternal power and Godhead; so that they
are without excuse:
21. Because that, when they knew God, they glorified him not as God, neither
were thankful; but became vain in their imaginations, and their foolish heart was
darkened.
22. Professing themselves to be wise, they became fools,
23. And changed the glory of the uncorruptible God into an image made like to corruptible
man, and to birds, and four-footed beasts, and creeping things.
24. Wherefore God also gave them up to uncleanness through the lusts of their own hearts,
to dishonour their own bodies between themselves:
25. Who changed the truth of God into a lie, and worshipped and served the creature more
than the Creator, who is blessed for ever. Amen.
Acts 23
11. And the night following the Lord stood by him, and said, Be of good cheer, Paul: for as thou hast testified of me in Jerusalem, so
must thou bear witness also at Rome.
Acts 27
13. And when the south wind blew softly, supposing that they had obtained their
purpose, loosing thence, they sailed close by Crete.
14. But not long after there arose against it a tempestuous wind, called Euroclydon.
15. And when the ship was caught, and could not bear up into the wind, we let her
drive.
16. And running under a certain island which is called Clauda, we had much work to
come by the boat:
17. Which when they had taken up, they used helps, undergirding the ship; and fearing lest
they should fall into the quicksands, strake sail, and so were driven.
18. And we being exceedingly tossed with a tempest, the next day they lightened
the ship;
19. And the third day we cast out with our own hands the tackling of the
ship.
20. And when neither sun nor stars in many days appeared, and no small tempest lay on
us, all hope that we should be saved was then taken away.
21. But after long abstinence Paul stood forth in the midst of them, and said, Sirs, ye
should have hearkened unto me, and not have loosed from Crete, and to have gained this harm
and loss.
22. And now I exhort you to be of good cheer: for there shall be no loss of any
man's life among you, but of the ship.
23. For there stood by me this night the angel of God, whose I am, and whom I
serve,
24. Saying, Fear not, Paul; thou must be brought before Caesar: and, lo, God hath given
thee all them that sail with thee.
25. Wherefore, sirs, be of good cheer: for I believe God, that it shall be even as it was told
me.
26. Howbeit we must be cast upon a certain island.
27. But when the fourteenth night was come, as we were driven up and down in Adria,
about midnight the shipmen deemed that they drew near to some country;
28. And sounded, and found it twenty fathoms: and when they had gone a little
further, they sounded again, and found it fifteen fathoms.
29. Then fearing lest we should have fallen upon rocks, they cast four anchors out of the
stern, and wished for the day.
30. And as the shipmen were about to flee out of the ship, when they had let down the
boat into the sea, under colour as though they would have cast anchors out of the foreship,
31. Paul said to the centurion and to the soldiers, Except these abide in the ship, ye cannot
be saved.
32. Then the soldiers cut off the ropes of the boat, and let her fall off.
33. And while the day was coming on, Paul besought them all to take meat,
saying, This day is the fourteenth day that ye have tarried and continued fasting, having taken
nothing.
34. Wherefore I pray you to take some meat: for this is for your health: for there
shall not an hair fall from the head of any of you.
35. And when he had thus spoken, he took bread, and gave thanks to God in presence of
them all: and when he had broken it, he began to eat.
36. Then were they all of good cheer, and they also took some meat.
37. And we were in all in the ship two hundred threescore and sixteen souls.
38. And when they had eaten enough, they lightened the ship, and cast out the wheat into
the sea.
39. And when it was day, they knew not the land: but they discovered a certain creek with
a shore, into the which they were minded, if it were possible, to thrust in the ship.
40.And when they had taken up the anchors, they committed themselves unto the
sea, and loosed the rudder bands, and hoised up the mainsail to the wind, and made toward
shore.
41. And falling into a place where two seas met, they ran the ship aground; and the
forepart stuck fast, and remained unmoveable, but the hinder part was broken with the violence
of the waves.
42. And the soldiers' counsel was to kill the prisoners, lest any of them should swim out,
and escape.
43. But the centurion, willing to save Paul, kept them from their purpose; and
commanded that they which could swim should cast themselves first into the sea,
and get to land:
44. And the rest, some on boards, and some on broken pieces of the ship. And so
it came to pass, that they escaped all safe to land.
Romans 6
23a.For the wages of sin is death.
Acts 1
15. And in those days Peter stood up in the midst of the disciples, and said, (the number of
names together were about an hundred and twenty,)
16. Men and brethren, this scripture must needs have been fulfilled, which the
Holy Ghost by the mouth of David spake before concerning Judas, which was guide to them that
took Jesus.
17. For he was numbered with us, and had obtained part of this ministry.
18. Now this man purchased a field with the reward of iniquity; and falling headlong, he
burst asunder in the midst, and all his bowels gushed out.
19. And it was known unto all the dwellers at Jerusalem; insomuch as that field is called
in their proper tongue, Aceldma, that is to say, The field of blood.
20. For it is written in the book of Psalms, Let his habitation be desolate, and let no man
dwell therein: and his bishoprick let another take.
21. Wehrefore of these men which have companied with us all the time that the Lord Jesus
went in and out among us,
22. Beginning from the baptism of John, unto that same day that he was taken up from us,
must one be ordained to be a witness with us of his resurrection.
23. And they appointed two, Joseph called Barsabas, who was surnamed Justus, and
Matthias.
24. And they prayed, and said, Thou, Lord, which knowest the hearts of all men,
shew whether of these two thou hast chosen.
25. That he may take part of this ministry and apostleship, from which Judas by
transgression fell, that he might go to his own place.
26. And they gave forth their lots; and the lot fell upon Matthias; and he was numbered
with the eleven apostles.
Matthew 27
15. Now at that feast the governor was wont to release unto the people a prisoner,
whom they would.
16. And they had then a notable prisoner, called Barabbas.
17. Therefore when they were gathered together, Pilate said unto them, Whom will ye that
I release unto you? Barabbas, or Jesus which is called Christ?
18. For he knew that for envy they had delivered him.
20.But the chief priests and elders persuaded the multitude that they should ask Barabbas,
and destroy Jesus.
21. The governor answered and said unto them, Whether of the twain will ye that I release
unto you? They said, Barabbas.
22. Pilate saith unto them, What shall I do then with Jesus which is called Christ?
They all say unto him, Let him be crucified.
24. When Pilate saw that he could prevail nothing, but that rather a tumult was
made, he took water, and washed his hands before the multitude, saying, I am innocent
of the blood of this just person: see ye to it.
Deuteronomy 4
35.Unto thee it was shewed, that thou mightest know that the LORD he is God;
there is none else beside him.
Isaiah 45
5. I am the LORD, and there is none else, there is no God beside
me: I girded thee, though thou hast not known me:
6. That they may know from the rising of the sun, and from the west, that there is
none beside me. I am the LORD, and there is none else.
18. For thus saith the LORD that created the heavens;
God himself that formed the earth and made it; he hath established it, he created it not in vain,
he formed it to be inhabited: I am the LORD; and there is none else.
Isaiah 44
6. Thus saith the LORD the King of Israel, and his redeemer the LORD of hosts; I
am the first, and I am the last; and beside me there is no God.
8. Fear ye not, neither be afraid: have not I told thee from that time, and have declared
it? ye are even my witnesses. Is there a God beside me? yea, there is no
God; I know not any..
