A Japanese poem consisting of three lines with seventeen syllables. These poems are usually, but not always about nature.




Directions: 1st line 5 syllables
2nd line 7 syllables
3rd line 5 syllables






Sample: Swiftly, flowing spring
Racing down the mountain slope
Singing its sweet song
