For those of you that don't know (or haven't guessed) a slash pile is that large mound of tree bits on the right. Basically it is all the pieces that are cut off or broken off when the loggers log the block that don't fit on their trucks. When the blocks are being tidied up in preparation for planting, all the "slash" gets put into piles.. hence the name :)
