    v1-4 Meeting the Lord presents a Challenge we must Overcome
    v1 (Jesus enters and passes through Jericho)
    Zaccheus is a friendless man
    • He is a publican (a tax collector)
    • he is the only mani identified a "chief" publican, he had people working for him
     
    v2 He was rich. He made a very good living off his neighbors
    v3 He sought to see and he kept on trying
    v4 He ran ahead. This is the same word used in John 20:4, describes how Zaccheus ran and his zeal
     
    v5-7 Meeting the Lord requires a Change of Obedience

    v6 Zaccheus' response! He made haste! and he came down.

    v8 Zaccheus, after spending some time with Jesus makes a twofold decision
    • He made a "ready" response - Right now
    • He made a "radical" response - 4 times as much
    • Are we prepared to make a "ready" response?
    • Are we prepared to make a "radical response?
    Does the Lord expect us to?
    v9-10 Yes - for doing so leads to salvation.
