Even every one that is called by my name: for I have created him for my glory, I have
formed him; yea, I have made him.
(Isaiah 43:7)
You are a child of destiny. God is orchestrating and ordaining your steps and your life -
if you are yielded to Him.

"But Jesus remained silent" (Matthew 26:63).
This verse has saved many relationships for the Christian who wants to preserve harmony
and love. How tempted we are to rake the one who has just insulted our dignity; how dare
he or she tell us we are less than perfect.
But there He stood, the perfect One, in the de profundus of His life, unjustly examined
and accused and unmercifully degraded. In this storm of abuse, Jesus held His peace and
answered nothing. The meek and lowly One would not defend His words and work, He whose
words will not pass away (Matthew 24:35) and whose works abide forever. Be silent, be
silent!

"The kindness and love of God our Saviour." - Titus 3:4 |
"Received up into glory." - 1 Timothy 3:16 |
How sweet it is to behold the Saviour communing with his own beloved people! There can be nothing more delightful than, by the Divine Spirit, to be led into this fertile field of delight. |
Jesus wears all the glory which the pomp of heaven can bestow upon him, which ten thousand times ten thousand angels can minister to him. |

Nearness by Cathy Vinson

If we had fur and claws, would He have shared that in common with us? He came to us! Whatever we were, He became like us. Such wonder "breaks a heart into loving." The amazement of the ages is echoed in these words: "What is man that Thou art mindful of Him?" (Ps 8:4-6). "Say unto God, How terrible are You in Your works...He is terrible in His doing toward the children of men" (Ps 66:3,5b). To say this with the attention of our ears and spirit, seems to provide an entrance into the sentiment of our forefathers of the faith. A. W. Tozer writes: "The spiritual giants of old were men who at some time became acutely aware of the real Presence of God and maintained that consciousness the rest of their lives. The first encounter may have been one of terror...Usually this fear soon lost its content of terror and changed after a while to delightsome awe, to level off finally into a reverent sense of complete nearness to God. The essential point is THEY EXPERIENCED GOD. How else can the saints and prophets be explained?...they walked in conscious communion with the real Presense..." What do we have? flesh and blood...then it was flesh and blood that He became. What we are, He became. "And my spirit breaks into loving at the nearness and the tenderness of You." - Ted Sandquist.
