But my mouth would encourage you; comfort from my lips would bring you relief.

Job 16:5 (NIV)

Hope Fully Set

by Cathy Vinson

We've entered the kitchen, each arm filled with a heavy grocery bag. We look for a place where we can adequately unload. We amble by the counter realizing there is not enough room, and on the other side seeing a puddle of spilled drink.

Life is like this, we are ambling around looking for a spot in which to place our hope. But nothing is worthy. No nook, shelf, phonestand is able to securely bear the weight of such a hope.

Only one thing will present itself to be worthy of our hope. It is the future revealing of Jesus Christ to us. A grace will be given to us.

Our hope is worth something. Where will we deposit it? Where will it be invested? "Set your hope fully..." There ahead is the empty kitchen table with room enough to more than house our bags. There we can securely set our bags and rest our arms. What grand potential of hope exists when it is rightly placed! Praise the Lord for the hope of His revealing!

" Set your hope fully on the grace to be given you at the revelation of Jesus Christ."

1 Peter 1:13

... nothing is worthy. No nook, shelf, phonestand is able to securely bear the weight of such a hope.
