But my mouth would encourage you; comfort from my lips would bring you relief.
Job 16:5 (NIV)
The Powerless by Cathy Vinson |
This describes one of the most often repeated scenarios. The combining of these unequal forces seems to produce a dynamic that beckons God into the picture. God seems to be drawn to this unequal balance, so much so that He will bring His own people into a place of powerlessness just to fit the bill for His involvement. Without number are God's areas of expertise. When we speak of the One in
the universe over that has undertaken the cause of the powerless, there is only "to HELP the powerless..." Go to where the help is. No
one is so in tune and in touch with the suffering of the weak one stacked up against the
one with MORE might, stature, position, authority, age, resources, influence. Though the
most mighty Himself, no one understands the feelings and perspective of the powerless who
time and time again is positioned AGAINST the one with more. He knows within the weak one
on his way to face the Where, where is the Helper? Go to where help is found. No where is it found like in the One who "helps." Don't you adore Him as the One who helps the powerless? If you are powerless, perhaps there is much of God's initiative that has brought you to this very place. It's at this place that You might be linked with Him. It's at this place where He might truly HELP you.
