But my mouth would encourage you; comfort from my lips would bring you relief.
Job 16:5 (NIV)
The Body by Cathy Vinson |
The mystery of Christ's body to
us: it means everything. Like the ideal marriage, there has been a perfect joining. What
affects the one affects the other. Jesus' physical body, at one time broken, ever speaks
to God of our perfect peace and complete reconciliation to Him. In Heaven, even there Jesus is seen as the Lamb as if it HAD BEEN slain (Rev 5:6). This means no condemnation for us TODAY! The fact of His physical body broken is a continual declaration that we are free and clean before our Lord. God forgives us in just being joined to Him! "Sacrifice and offering You did not desire, but a body You prepared for Me...then I said, 'Here I am (it is written about Me in the volume of the book). I have come to do Your will, O God!" (Heb 10:5,7) Jesus came and obediently did God's will. His body prepared and broken is directly linked to our being, "As He is, so ARE we in this world" (1 Jn 4:17). We may embrace this and find our whole righteousness HERE NOW. Our whole life's quest is resting on the fact of this. When He said, "It is finished," it became finished for us, too. He sanctified Himself for our sakes (Jn 17:19), and we may now live in glorious consequence! |

"But
now He has reconciled you by Christ's physical body through death to present you holy in
His sight, without blemish and free from accusation " (Col 1:22) |
