Through a field alone I stray unplanned upon a vision;
before me fair, with lustrous hair, an angel takes me in.
A world beyond my world unfolds before these jaded eyes
painting truth in novel hues upon the sky, beyond all lies.
Softest night of starless sky, upon our field of clover
with gentle light you bring this fire that fills my heart with thunder.
The world so dark with fearful sin on days of brightest blue
shines forth aglow with holy light on a single night, when all is new
and an angel deigns to walk with you.

I know, if even I'm never shown another time with one so true
beneath a sky of spirit so bold
I have been with beauty, and of it shall sing
in every world I may roam.
