We used to
We used to wake up to the dawn
And let the sunbeams in
We used to hold our morning mugs
Of chocolate that said, good morning

We used to run out in the yard
And let the sun sink into our skin
We used to kiss the garden flowers
As if to say, good day

We used to watch the sun go down
And see the sky turn colors
We used to watch the birds fly by
Hear them cry, good evening

We used to hold hands by the river
And stare at each other's reflections
We used to walk on those cold, cold nights
Hear it call, good night

We used to wake up to the dawn
And let the sunbeams in
Whatever happened to that dawn
Whatever happened to that life
