Lesson 11 - Angelology

1. What are the aspects that should be included in the definition of an angel? Angels are incorporeal, created beings. They are holy, personal, they do not die, they are not seen, and they are orderly.

2. How are angels different from men? Humans are not incorporeal or confirmed holy. They do die, they can be seen, and they are probably not orderly in the same sense that the angels were.

3. List the angels. What is the function of each?

a. Lucifer - Means bearer of light, he should bear the light of God to others.

b. Gabriel - Messenger of God whose character trait is strength.

c. Michael - HIghest in the angelic order, of godly character.

d. Cherubims - Performs diligent service for God.

e. Seraphims - Concerned with holiness of God.

4. What are the attributes of angels and how do these attributes compare to God?

a. Strength - Angels are strong, but they are not omnipotent.

b. Intelligence - Angels are intelligent, but they are not omniscient.

c. Confirmed holiness - Angels have confirmed holiness because they did not rebel against God.

d. Angels are not omnipresent. They cannot be everywhere, all the time.

5. List the works of angels. How are these works different from the works of the Holy Spirit? From believers' works? Angels provide transportation at death, reveal spiritual truthes, protect, set free, influence, give provisions, encourage, administer, and make special appearances.
