Lesson 12 - Satanology

1. What were the reasons Satan fell? Satan wanted to ascend into heaven, exalt his throne, govern heaven, and be like the most High. He wanted to rule in God's place.

2. When did Satan fall? The most logical time of Satan's fall seems to be in eternity past. There is not any reason to believe that there was a special time period between Genesis 1:1 and Genesis 1:2, nor does it seem reasonable that he fell after Creation.

3. How is Satan like "elect" angels? The "elect" angels chose God and the path of holiness at the time that Satan rose up against God. Satan is like them because he, too, made a choice, even though it was the opposite choice.

4. What are the attributes of Satan? Relate this answer to omniscience, omnipresence, and omnipotence.

a. Strength - Satan is strong, but not all-powerful.

b. Intelligence - Satan is intelligent, but not all-knowing.

c. Confirmed unholiness - Satan has confirmed "unholiness", making him like the "elect" angels.

d. Satan is not omnipresent.
					Tom of Spotswood

"He that hath the Son hath life; and he that hath not the Son of God hath not life."
(I John 5:12)
