The whip had pieces or rocks, glass, metal, and other objects woven into it so that the beating would be even more severe. Scourging would rip a person's skin off their body. Often, the victim would die from this beating.

The Greek term was from business and meant that the debt had been paid in full. Thus, His physical suffering was over. The last Old Testament sacrifice had been sacrificed. The dispensation law was terminated. The sins of the world were propitiated, He was dying physically, and the plan of salvation was complete.
6. Who buried Jesus? Joseph of Arimathaea and Nicodemus took His body for burial. Joseph provided the tomb, and Nicodemus, a secret friend to Christ, did the embalming.
7. Where was He buried? He was buried in the grave of Joseph of Arimathaea.
