Spring

A small girl,
Lonely and friendless
in her grey coat.
Crisp blue eyes
set,
intent on a place
in the woods
to which she moves.

Cold Winter day
lonely and bleak
in his friendless white coat.
Crisp blue sky
staring,
intent on the woods
in which she moves.

A small girl
sits and shivers
amongst the trees
in the woods,
as she reads a story
of that which she
has not.

Chill wind
sends shivers
up the spines
of the trees
in the woods
in which she reads.

A small girl,
black brown eyes
staring,
intent on the path
her small feet
thread through the woods.

Brown black clouds
thread through the air
obscuring
the woods
from the gaze of the
crisp blue sky.

Two small girls,
a timid smile,
one sunny return,
a closed book and
the warmth
of a new
friend on a cold
day.

Long lost sun,
one timid peep,
and a warm return
through the clouds
through the woods to
thaw the frozen
ground of
the first day of Spring.
