Rain's Message

by Eric Hall

Two men standing in the rain,
One cries, one weeps.
Both have learned to live with pain,
for better, for worse, for keeps.
One barely living, the one who's crying.
The man who weeps is barely dying.
One's been taught to cope with pain,
One is dying in lonely rain.
The first man's tears fall with a fight.
The latter's purge and cleanse his sight.
One heart is broken, the other is dead.
Both are heavy with tears they've shed.
He who cries will cope with tears.
He who weeps will conquer his fears.
One will die a thousand deaths and still be left in crying.
One will live and learn to die because life is found in dying.
Two men standing in the rain,
One cries, one weeps.
One has learned to live with pain,
For better, for worse, for keeps.

I Cannot Promise Tomorrow

I cannot promise tomorrow,
For tomorrow may not come.
I cannot give the past,
For yesterday is done.
To show the Truth today,
A promise is what I live.
If Love will have His way,
My life is what I give.
