Where is Sanggang?

Look at the following map.

You can see Sanggang is near to Temerluh. It is a State Seat under Mentakab Parlimentary Seat. Previously this seat was held by BN Candidate from UMNO, Abdullah Kia. It leaved vacant after Abdullah Kia died. Before that, he was an EXCO member of Pahang State Government.

In 1999 election, Abdullah won by a majority of 1038 votes, the lowest majority among the DUN under Mentakab Parlimentary Seat. Two other DUN under Mentakab are Jenderak and Lancang. Both of this seat won by BN cancidate by a majority of 1975 and 2639.

This is the very first by election after 1999 General Election. It will be another contest between Barisan Nasional and Barisan Alternatif. UMNO will definetely field it's candidate while PAS seems more likely representing BA.

This DUN has a 32% of chinese voter. On the other hand, this is a place to test the supporting force of BN in Pahang because they lost 7 DUN to BA.

Sanggang is just near to Sungai Jengka.
