    • http://www.erols.com/ziring/escher.htm -Neal's home page. Includes a brief biography, selections from Escher's works, links to other Escher sites and a bibliography of books about Escher. Recently updated 29/11/97.
    • http://lonestar.texas.net/~escher/store/book7.html Takes you to the gift shop first. However, you can take off the last part of the URL and search on: http://lonestar.texas.net/~escher/ -The World of Escher. Uses an image map to go round web site rather than hypertext links. Site includes: library of texts about Escher and chronology of his life, art museum with small selection of his works in graphics, contests currently running, and gift shop.

      Copyright Issue:

    • http://kitenet.net/escher/ -this page has been shut down becuase of a copyright issue over showing Escher's pictures on the Internet. Page last updated 12/1/97. Explains why so many Escher web sites are not available any more.

  • Yahoo: When keyword searched on escher Yahoo found 3 catagories and 46 sites. Of the 3 catagories:
    • Top:Arts:Art History:Artists:Escher, Maurits Cornelis (1898-1972) was the most relevant: http://www.users.dircon.co.uk/~jrr/escher/escher.htm
    • The other two catagories and web sites were mostly business orientated. This is probably a comment on the copyright issue on Escher's work (fairly well protected with a large number of sites found here and in the search engines now not useable.

• Final Comment: Many of the sites I found on Escher were predominantly grapics of Escher's work with links to other sites that were similar. Many are not working because of the copyright issue. There are very few actual sites that I could find that have a good deal of information about Escher and his works.
