Memorable Moments from Kat's Spring Break Road Trip '97

For Everyone Who Keeps Asking About My Trip to Meet Islander, SailorGuy, AnaNG, and Musicman!

• Seeing AnaNG and SailorGuy for the first time while they gave a tour of the Elissa to a group of students....
  
• Hearing about SailorGuy and Musicman fighting over me - with a scheduled duel of blueberry pies at 10 paces, no less!.....

Saturday, March 8

• Attempting (unsuccessfully!) to learn to tie knots...Long Jack's arms around me as he guided my hands (that WAS his motivation, wasn't it???)...and *evil laughter here* the FEAR in Musicman's eyes later when he saw that I arrived with rope in hand!.....
  
• Assigning ridiculous "positions" for the children as "ship's crew" (especially the Bilge Rats and Head Flogger!)- and laughing as SailorGuy and I kept coming up with the same words at the same time!.....
  
• Watching SailorGuy stumble over my name as he crossed between "Kat," "Katharine," and my REAL name.....

Sunday, March 9

• Struggling to wake up at a decent hour to start my day's drive...since SAILOR-GUY kept me up too late the night before! *g*.....
• Driving all day long, trying to convince myself that a Banana Split Blizzard for breakfast is as healthy as a glass of milk and fruit.....

Monday, March 10

• At the hotel, waiting to meet Musicman for the first time...both eager and hesitant...reluctant to lose the incredible excitement of infinite possibilities... (how many times can a girl pace and stare at a mirror in 30-min.???)
  
• Meeting Musicman for the first time...a sweet gentleman with flowers at the door...only disappointment being the smell of cigarette smoke when we hugged hello (sorry - I'm a non-smoker and can't help but dislike the smell!).....
  
• Sharing music and photos and poetry and stories...and staying up WAY too late!.....

Tuesday, March 11

• Sightseeing in downtown Indianapolis...Scottish Rite Cathedral was absolutely incredible!.....
  
• Spending an evening with Musicman and his brother and sister-in-law and their beautiful 14-month-old daughter...watching as she reached with adoring eyes for her uncle.....
  
• Staying up all night long (watching DR. WHO, for Chrissakes! *g*).....

Wednesday, March 12

• Chatting with MM and roommate...discovering a small pub near their house for dinner.....

Thursday, March 13

• Cooking dinner for MM and his roommate...and being told that they were gonna kick their other roommate out and move me in to cook for them permanently!.....

Friday, March 14

• SNOW! Watching in wonder at the magical sight of these huge snowflakes falling...and knowing that MM was probably thinking that I am absolutely crazy to be so impressed by a little bit of snow.....
  
• Sharing the most INCREDIBLE bottle of wine!!! (With special thanks to MM's friend, Jeff, for the wine suggestion: "You're the MAN, Jeff!").....

• Listening to MM and his other roommate play guitar...an incredible experience!.....

Sunday, March 16

• On the road home, planning this addition to my homepage, and laughing with the knowledge that I can say anything I want about these people, and THEY CAN DO NOTHING about it! HEHEHEHEHE! *evil grin*
