Glorious Pound Cake |
(I think I got this from my aunt Carolyn's Grandma Eckhardt)
Ingredients:
Directions:
Cream butter until light and fluffy; add sugar and cream until well-blended. Add eggs, one at a time, and beating for one minute after each addition. Add flour and blend. Stir in vanilla. Pour into lightly-greased 10-inch tube pan and bake at 325 degrees for 1 hour and 20 minutes, or until toothpick inserted in cake comes out clean. Cool in pan for 5 minutes, then remove from pan and finish cooling cake on rack. When cake is completely cool, sprinkle with powdered sugar or serve unsugared with fresh fruit.
