We create our world through the choices we make.

Essence of Life

Now the gardener knew that there were many other things he was about to be exposed to on this journey that he had begun. He began to feel a bit of anxious anticipation about what would happen next. He wanted to find out more about how he could learn from all that was about him on how to live in harmony with everything that existed, but most of all with those people that were part of his life. He looked about to see from what he would hear next. He placed his hand out and touched several objects that were close to him, but nothing happened. Now he was ready for more and nothing was happening. He began to get discouraged. Maybe his journey was over for this particular day. He placed his head back against the tree and stretched out over the grass with his arms and hands. He closed his eyes and decided to rest just as he noticed that a drop of water had dropped on to his hand from a blade of grass. In the warmth of the afternoon sun this was cooling as it ran down the length of his palm. What a pleasant feeling he was having as he could feel the soothing effect that this was having on him. Then, once again, he began to receive a message. "I am the essence of life. With out me there would be no physical life. The properties of which I am composed are essential for life. The attributes of these properties are different from the attributes that I have. It is only through combining these two properties that my attributes are possible. Just as the attributes that hydrogen and oxygen have are necessary for life so are the attributes that I have as water. It is not that one is more important than another, only that through the union of these properties is life possible. At the same time if all the hydrogen and oxygen were to unite so that there was only water then there could be no life. Each is necessary in its own time and space. Even as a drop of water the attributes that I have are limited. There are those things which I can do as a drop that could not be done if I were to combine with more drops. There is also a necessity for larger quantities of water for life as you know it to be able exist. Just as there would be no growth with out light there would be no growth with out water. All life needs moisture in some quantity. It is not that I am any more or any less necessary than many other things to sustain life and bring about growth. It is only in conjunction with and in proper proportion and proper order that all things are necessary for growth to take place. I can be a force that can destroy if not controlled. I can appear in many different forms and cause many different effects. It does not matter what form I take or what I do I will leave either a positive or a negative affect on everything that I come in contact with. Even when I can not be seen I have an affect upon you and all other life. If the air is to dry or to moist or in proper balance you are affected. In other words, my presents always leaves an affect upon you in one way or another. The same is also true of you. If you can understand how, that as you make choices that unite you with one force, one cause, one partner, one attribute or any other aspect of life, you are combining your present attributes with those of that to which you have united in order to form new and different attributes. In this process you have set upon the voyage of change and growth. You will have an affect upon everything in your presents of either a positive or a negative nature. It is imperative that your choices be such that they are of a positive nature if harmony is going to be implemented. If in this process you also join up with others who have made the choices that are similar to yours, you are then forming a force that can be very powerful. If it is not controlled it can be destructive. In large quantities the force is very easy to run wild on its own accord if not directed from within. It is not that any of this is not necessary for growth for all of it is. What is necessary is that the union of many different attributes be accomplished if growth and life is ever to come into harmonic co-existence. Everything is necessary for this to take place. Everything does and will have an effect upon everything else. There is nothing that is independent of anything else and at the same time everything has different choices. If in this process you can understand how as you begin to get other people excited about an idea and you give this idea life and the life of this idea becomes a force that will have an affect on everything in which it comes in contact, then you will begin to understand how import that you choose very carefully what ideas you are going to unite with. If you can understand this about an idea, think how much more important your choices of friends, spouse, professions, organizations, religions, governments, etc. All things are necessary for growth. In my union as a drop of water I have a mission. This mission may change as I go different directions but at the core of all water there is a mission that can not change. This is the mission to bring about growth and at your core to exist such a mission." The gardener began to contemplate about those things in his own life that he had united with or became a part of. As he realized that he was actually creating a force when he united with any and all concepts he realized how very important it was to choose very carefully those forces to which he wanted to add his force. He began to better understand that everything that exist is inter connected in some manner to everything else. He began to realize that in everything there is knowledge and knowledge leads to growth. He was just beginning to understand how important he was in the growth of everyone that he knew. He was beginning to feel a need to recognize his mission or missions in life. As the gardener began to look to see what he would hear from again, he began to receive more information from the drop of water. "As a drop of water I am actually a marriage of hydrogen and oxygen. I am not just a union but and actual marriage. It is very difficult for me to separate into the two elements from which I am composed. Once we made that commitment we became one and are bound together with totally new attributes and a new mission. It is impossible to recognize water as separate and independent parts but only as a whole. In choosing a new mission together we became new and different and it is only through this total commitment that we are able to complete and reach our goals as a drop of water. If the oxygen aspect of my character were to chose to operate as an independent our mission would be destroyed would never be able to reach its conclusion. If in your own life you are able to make such a marriage to any other person, idea or concept, you need to realize the totality and depth of what you are doing. It is only in this realization that we really begin to understand the deepest aspects of harmony. A union and a marriage is similar but yet very different. Both are necessary in bring about harmony and growth within our realm." Once again the gardener was uncomfortable with all that was happening. He had never taken the time to look at life in the way that he was beginning to perceive his world. He began to realize that everything in our world is much more complicated in a very simple way. He was not sure that he wanted to look at life with this new perception. To do so would mean that he would have to make changes in his life. Up till now he was sure of where he was going and how to best get there. He now was beginning to see this journey in a new light. He had thought that he was happy with the way things were. Why was all of this happening and what difference could he make. He was just one person, so why try and change anything?
